About Our Institute
The
Optometry Research & Training Institute maintains it's own self
contain campus and a proposed six acre urban/suburban site in the city of
Banda. The present institute a sister concern well equipped inter various
sophisticated clinical, surgical and advance technique diagnostic
ophthalmic instrument. For the student of the institute it's a unrivaled
setting for clinical learning experiences. The hospital employs a
multi-disciplinary
approach with optometrists, ophthalmologist, optometry technicians,
opticians, students and other health care professionals working together.
To achieve it's unique "layered" regiment of total vision care.
It's services range from primary care and free
community vision screening to special pediatric and low vision units to
sophisticated procedure such as electro diagnosis and neuro eye
consultations. It contains an optical dispensing service and optometric
pharmacy and the hospital rehabilitation centre is the part of the
institute.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
:

Imparting Optometry
Educational, Technical, management and Optometric Services especially
for the research training, Optometry development, eradication and
treatment of visual disorders and Non profitable eye care, vision
care, blindness controlling, Development of Optometry Science
Education & Child care. Optometry Research and Training Institute
is a unifying voice and a catalyst for national projects and services
that meet the need of the optometric profession, ophthalmic industry
& public they serve.

To work for
distribution of safe specially to rural male/female population towards
achievement/spread of controlling blindness/welfare objective and
techniques respectively and also for prevention & control of
blindness disease in the country, especially in rural areas.

To work for operating
the Rural Mobile Clinic Schemes (RMCs) for providing Primary Medical
and Health Care, eye care & social welfare to the needy poor at
their door step in rural and remote areas.

To educate and inform
the masses/society about the dangers of alcohol consumption and work
for the rehabilitation of chronic alcoholics.
To educate and inform the masses/society of the danger of tobacco
chewing and work for a tobacco free world.

To set up Camps for
Immunization, Cataract and other medical services for the benefit of
general public.
To provide specialized training to deal with emergency cases.
Social up liftment of the handicapped persons and especially to
uplift/improve their social, moral, educational and economic status.
Social up liftment and Rehabilitation of discarded widows and
especially to uplift/improve their social, moral, educational and

To work for
increasing literacy especially in rural areas and conduct literacy
programmes sponsored by Government of India and other govt. and Non-Govt.
departments.

To work in such a way
that the society gets strengthened up and works in urban and rural
areas for the Optometry Services.
The Optometry Research & Training Institute conducts different
courses in optometry under Optometry Council Of India, which is also
under approval by State Medical Faculty, U.P. Government.
The centre provides optical aid and the special training to maximize
vision persons whose conditions lend themselves to rehabilitation.
The institute has its six lecture rooms,
library room, student common room, work-shop, laboratory,
administration wing etc. The institute is well equipped with inter
various sophisticated clinical, surgical and advance technique
diagnostic instruments. For students of the institute it's an
unrivalled setting for clinical learning experiences. The institute
employs a multi-disciplinary approach with ophthalmologist, physician,
radiologist, X-ray tech., pathologist, heart specialist, Optometrists,
Optometric technicians, optician, and other health care professionals
working together - to achieve it's unique "layered" regiment
of total health care.
